Many literary magazines are still vetting unsolicited manuscripts through cover letters. I believe this is an outdated practice. I have longed for a change where genre matters less than talent. Where the product matters more than the cover letter.
Metanoia-Zine is about realizing this change: a literary magazine not divided into genres; a literary magazine that doesn't require a cover letter. A literary magazine that depends on its readers as much as its writers for literary sustenance.
Over the next weeks and months I'll be writing about what "literary" means to me, and what direction I see this magazine heading. I am excited to finally, after more than a year of stuttering preparation, truly get this project moving.
